   PR-0029"Cheesie ~ The Chesapeake and Ohio Kitten". Oval silk-work with mother cat and two kittens sleeping in bed. "Hers" is stitched into the quilt.

There is a beautiful story (Sleep Like A Kitten) papered on the back that explains the purpose of "Cheeise".  And a heart-warming dedication signed by Laurie J. Laud to Marjorie Murphy ~ After I am gone. American c. 1940.

Gabriel Shear Tregear (18021841) was an English publisher of caricatures and prints. Active from the late 1820s until his death, he operated his "Humorous and Sporting Print Shop" from quarters at 123 Cheapside, London. c. 1820.

     PR-0265This is a sweet oil on board painting of young girl by Martha Cahoon, 1905-1999.  The wife of Ralph Cahoon from Cape Cod, Massachusetts.  The more typical painting they did were of whimsical mermaids and sailors.  This subject of the cheerful little girl is unusual. American, Mid-20th Century.

  PR-0266"The Springer Spaniel" polychrome pressed paper-board for the Froedtert Malt Company ~ Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 

Froedter Malt Company founded in 1875 by Jacob & William Froedtert. The plant processed germinated barley into malt primarily for the use of brewing industry.  In its time, was largest such firm in the world. (Ref: Wikipedia & Milwaukee Public Library). American.
