Painted wood fairground / figure ~ "Aunt Sally". Much of the history of Aunt Sally is lost in antiquity but overall, the players would toss batons known as sticks at the wooden figural dolly sitting on a pole (usually dressed-up as a maid or aunt) hoping to dislodge the largest twig or object placed in inserts (holes) in the facial area to win the game / prize. English c. 1870.
